How man y megabytes are there in a DVD?

In my experience downloading movies and dvd's... there is somewhere between 700mb to 875mb per movie/dvd....although today dvd's/movies can contain 1024mb which is roughly 1gb. I'd say is safe to bet dvd/movie downloads to contain around 700mb to just over 1024mb or 1gb+or-. remember...1gb is roughly around 1024mb...from my knowledge. Please correct me if I'm wrong cause that would surely suck to be misinformed.

How many 10MP photos can fit on a DVD?

A standard size for a DVD is 4.7GB. A 10 megapixel photo is about 30 megabytes in size. 1 gigabyte = 1024 megabytes. This means that you can fit around 160 of these quality pictures on a DVD. Different cameras take different sizes therefore you may be able to fit a little more or a little less.

How many bytes does a DVD hold?

when we're talking about DVD movies thinking in terms of how many bytes is pretty rediculous. a very short DVD quality movie will be measured at least in tens of mega-bytes (Mb). one megabyte is equal to 1,048,576 bytes. so, if you were, for instance, thinking in terms of how many bytes there were in a full-length DVD quality feature film then you would be talking about gigabytes(Gb). one Gb is equal to 1,073,741,824 bytes. you need between 1 and 3 gigs of space for a whole DVD worth of information.

How many photos will fit on a 4.7 GB DVD?

A standard blank DVD holds 4.7 GB. There is no set number as to how many photos. It depends on camera, settings, and even subject. With my DSLR photos can range from 5-10 MB, but with my other camera photos are usually under 1 MB each.
