You can get them pretty cheap nowadays. It ultimately depends on two factors. 1--Whether it is internal or external (Usually internal drives are cheaper than external ones)
2--Capacity in GB (the more gigabytes, the more money)
I just bought a Western Digital Caviar Blue 320 GB internal hard drive for $28 including taxes as well as a Hitachi 500 GB external hard drive for $54 including taxes just to give you an idea. A good place to look is Newegg online or you can try any decent computer, electronics, or office store locally wherever you live like maybe Fry's Electronics, Office Depot or Staples.
Hard disk drive.
It spins for one ( at usually 7200 rpm) and writes in a language that involves 1 and 0's(Binary Code) It is a like a rewritable CD but a lot cooler A hard disk stores data in much the same way as a floppy drive, magnetic pulses are imprinted onto the surface of the disk by a read/write head which can also then read the data back. Hard disks differ from floppies in that the data can be stored in much higher densities and accessed at much higher speeds by using a non-removable disk which is sealed from contaminants. Modern hard disks usually have several disks within them (platters) and dedicated read/write heads for both sides of each. The platters themselves are usually made of some aluminum alloy coated with a thin layer of iron oxide and are very rigid. A hard disk drive (HDD), commonly referred to as a hard drive, hard disk, or fixed disk drive, is a non-volatile storage device which stores digitally encoded data on rapidly rotating platters with magnetic surfaces. Strictly speaking, "drive" refers to a device distinct from its medium, such as a tape drive and its tape, or a floppy disk drive and its floppy disk. Early HDDs had removable media; however, an HDD today is typically a sealed unit (except for a filtered vent hole to equalize air pressure) with fixed media.
I'm not sure exactly what the question is. If it loads Windows, obviously the hard disk WAS detected. Still, it may be a faulty motherboard or a failing hard disk or a corrupted installation of Windows or something. You may want to get it checked out by calling tech support.
Sector
they are the same thing... The Hard Disk is the magnetic disk that stores the bytes, the Drive is the mechanism that writes the data to the disk.
Six Hard Disk.
It depends on how much you bought your PC or the hard disk itself. My current hard disk has a capacity of 400 gb.
Yes, a hard disk is much greater than a CD.
Sata of course. It is much much better/faster/economical.
its cost 150$
Originally, it was thought that the price of a solid state drive, or SSD, would drop to the range of hard-disk drives. However, the price of the raw material used in the production of SSD is increasing and keeping the cost of the SSD well above hard-disk drives. These prices vary by brand and storage size.
Usually much faster
It have 512mb
A modern hard disk will spin much faster than a floppy disk. A floppy disk will spin at around 300 RPM. A hard disk will vary depending on model and configuration. A mid range desktop hard disk will spin at around 7200RPM. Laptop hard disks usually run at slower speeds of 5400RMP. High end desktop and server hard disks can spin at speeds in excess of 10000RPM.
A computer hard disk or hard drive (fixed disk) is hardware.
It is much easier to build hard drives with lots of memory than Ram with lots of memory. You need some RAM though because it can be read from and written too much faster than hard disks.
