Your girlfriend is having difficulty someone is hacking her how do you stop this from happening how do you find out who hacked it it aparently was hacked via her IP?

Sir, you are out of luck, there is not much you can do. Hackers are almost impossible to get rid of. your I.P. address was hacked and they have control over her computer. Sorry to say but you must get rid of that computer or do a scan for viruses and remove them.

Is it easy for people to steal someone else's passwords?

The ease or difficulty depends almost entirely on two factors: (1) the ease with which the server containing the relevant passwords can be hacked, i.e. if you want Jane's Amazon password, this metric would concern the difficulty of hacking into Amazon, and (2) the ease with which the individual computer where the password is used can be breached, i.e. access to Jane's computer. The third most important factor, but it is distant, is the simplicity of the password. Passwords like bu6iFL5apgt70pXa are much harder to crack than 123456.However, hacking is a crime in almost every country and should not be performed. This answer is only to demonstrate the ease or difficulty of performing such an activity.

What would be the purpose of using hacking tools?

Assuming "hacking tools" refers computer hacking tools, these can be partitioned into constructive and destructive methods. Constructive hacking involves changing existing programs. This is convenient for programmers, as slightly altering a program is much faster than rewriting it entirely from the beginning. Destructive hacking involves affecting other people's systems, usually maliciously. It is most often done for personal amusement.

Hacking is it a crime?

That depends on what you hacked and what way you hacked it. Did you know it's actually illegal to add/remove a user account on a computer that's not yours, if you on a limited account. In a court of law, this is considered hacking. In Ireland there was a case a while back in which a person ended up in court for the above reason being tried as a computer hacker. Yet about 3 months later somebody happened to stumble upon a flaw in a prominent politicions website, he published his findings, got caught, and was told "he was nothing more than a router with too much time on his hands who got lucky" and this particular man had studied IT in one of the best colleges in the country.
