What is ultraviolet water disinfection?

Ultraviolet (UV) light kills bacteria and viruses in water. The light shines through the water, which must be clear. It does not add a scent or taste to the water.

Does a wireless keyboard use ultraviolet light waves to communicate with tehe computer?

The wireless keyboard or mouse uses infrared technology rather than ultraviolet rays to communicate with the computer, and as such there is no risk of radiation exposure with this.

Is a black light safe to use as a night light to sleep with?

Yes. Provided it is a low intensity UV light. Don't use tanning equipment...

Why infrared is named as infrared?

This has to do with the electromagnetic spectrum. Whether you know it or not, Gamma-rays, ultraviolet, X-rays, microwaves, visible light, infrared, and radio/tv waves are all the same thing, just in different doses. Infrared literally means "below-red", while ultraviolet means (beyond or above violet, or purple). With fore-said spectrum, visible lights highest frequency color appears to us as purple. At a slightly lower frequency we observe blue, then green, followed by yellow, and eventually red. In between each of these colors we observe intermediate colors like magenta, teal, orange and pink. At a frequency lower than, or below, red, we begin to enter the infrared area of the electromagnetic spectrum. Above purple, we enter the ultraviolet area of the electromagnetic spectrum.

How do you get a robot to follow a black line rcx 1.0.?

I actually use NXT but I imagine you use the light sensor to detect when there isn't a black line under it. Then steer to the left a bit and if the line isn't found, steer to the right until it's found.

Is a black light a ultraviolet light?

Yes.

Is a ultra violet light and a black light the same?

Yes, an ultraviolet (UV) light and a black light are often used interchangeably to refer to a type of light that emits ultraviolet radiation. Black lights typically emit UVA light, which is not visible to the human eye but can cause fluorescent and phosphorescent materials to glow.

What light is used in black lights?

Ultraviolet light.

What is the purpose of black light?

The same thing that's in a regular light, usually... the "black light" part comes from having the bulb be a color that blocks most of the visible light while allowing the ultraviolet to pass through.

Is there such thing as black light?

Yes, black light is a type of ultraviolet light that emits mostly ultraviolet radiation and very little visible light. It can make certain objects glow in the dark.

What is another name for ultraviolet light?

Ultraviolet light is also known as UV light. Ultraviolet light is electromagnetic radiation wavelengths and is emitted in black lights, tanning lamps and sunlight.

What Are ultraviolet light?

They are sometimes called "black lights".

When black light goes into a prism what color comes out of the prism?

Black light is actually ultraviolet light, which is not visible to the human eye. When ultraviolet light enters a prism, it can get separated into its component colors just like visible light. The colors that come out of the prism will be the same as a normal white light spectrum - red, orange, yellow, green, blue, and violet.

Which form of electromagnetic radiation is called black light?

Ultraviolet (UV).

What type of rays are produced from the sun or a black light?

A true "black light" should emit only ultraviolet radiation. Violet light waves have the highest frequency visible to a human eye. Ultraviolet has a higher frequency, and the human eye cannot detect it. When you buy a "black light" at the party store, in addition to the ultraviolet radiation, the bulb will usually give off violet light as well (analogous to a yellow light bulb looking a bit orange). You can see the violet light, but it's really the invisible, high energy ultraviolet light that provides all the "cool" effects.

Can you see black light tattoos without a black light?

Black light tattoos are designed to be visible under ultraviolet light, commonly used in black light. They are usually not visible under normal light unless they contain regular ink as well. The ink used in black light tattoos absorbs and re-emits the ultraviolet light, creating the glowing effect.
