I'll give you some things:
1. I can work from home for a company that has no physical office. ALL my work is the computer, then I email my time sheets and work in. My pay check is direct deposited. I have never met my boss or any coworkers. We are scattered across the US.
2. All my doctors have instant access to ALL my medical records becuase they are all in the same hospital network. I can't express how great this is!
3. I can video confrence with anyone who has a computer and the same program as me. I live 2,000 miles from my family and get to see them on a weekly basis using video chat. My young niece and nephew know my face, and know me. In the past it would have just been me trying to talk to them on the phone and they'd be "Who is this voice? Is this really a person?"
4. Email! I can type up a document and get it across the world in seconds, instead of waiting a minimum of a few days for snail mail to get it there.
5. Computer games. I play MMO's. So I play with people all over the world to accomplish goals. Not only do I get to make new friends, I get something to entertain myself with.
Here is how computers typically change people's lifestyles:
1. They do not have to go out as much to pay bills. If you must travel through unsafe areas or you are a target of bigotry, then limiting your exposure is good.
2. You can be aware of products and services you didn't know existed and can order things not available in your town.
3. You can meet people you would never know otherwise.
4. You have a whole wealth of information and don't need to buy a set of encyclopedias to take up space.
5. You have more places to express yourself.
6. You have access to more views than your own.
Computers are continously growing at an out standing rate
all the newest computers you buy now are considered as "modern computer".
Modularization created in form of Layers in OSI and TCP/IP models in modern computer networking enables development of Applications at different layers. This further opens the world of development based on Applications, Protocols, Networks andPhysical channels.
The Countess Ada Augusta of Lovelace is usually credited with designing and writing the first computer program. However as the computer it was written for, Charles Babbage's Analytical Engine, was never built this program was largely an academic exercise. The first program for a computer that was actually built was designed in 1944 and ran on the British cryptanalytic computer Colossus. It is unknown who did the work as the entire project was classified and most of the records were destroyed after the war.The first program for a stored program computer (the type that modern computers are), consisting of 17 instructions, was written by Tom Kilburn, and first ran on June 21, 1948 on the Manchester Baby computer.
