TS stands for Teamspeak in online video gaming. Teamspeak is a light weight VOIP (Voice over internet protocol) group chat system. The light weight nature of this program is specifically suited to playing games as it takes comparatively little memory or processing power to operate.

Both TS and its nearest competitor, Ventrillo, allow users to run their own voice server for free (With some limitations). However, due to the logarithmic increase in the amount of bandwith required to run voice to many users simultaneously, home servers soon become impractical. Many guilds and clans soon out grow their home servers and end up renting a backbone server running TS.
