There might be too many programs opened at the same time or there may not be enough memory in your computer. Or it could be due to viruses, spyware, bad memory, bad drivers, or bad CPU opcodes. If your PC hangs a lot, here are some things to check. 1. Try different memory. If you change memory or remove memory sticks one at a time and the problem stops, then memory is likely the problem. 2. Check the BIOS version and then compare that to the latest BIOS available for that exact motherboard. If not, then check the changelog and see if any of the changes mention stability, opcode fixes, or compatibility. If so, then follow the instructions and flash a newer BIOS version. However, this would be risky if the instability is due to another cause. 3. Replace drivers. If the lockups only happen when attempting to play sound or graphics, then you should try replacing the related drivers. 4. Replace any codec set that is installed. The files might be corrupted.
Sounds like a overheat problem. Check the fans to make sure they are all working properly, free from dust and debris. Could be bad capacitors on the mainboard, check to see if any are starting to expand or leak, this can also cause instability and odd problems with a computer. Could also be a virus - but this should get you started
Batch file that opens a program waits 5 seconds then closes that program. For some reason I cannot get this batch to perform the open portion, wait, then the close portion in .... startup batch file hangs up on second command.
Are you sure its the AD that's freezing up and not the server...?? I'd say more than likely an important file has become corrupt. Try exporting everything in the AD then delete, re-install and import the files. If the problem continues you may want to have a look at your DNS, the two of these work together. Though Ive never seen this a DNS causing this, but I guess its possible. Also sometimes a badly designed AD can put your memory usuage way up. Could be putting pressure on your server.
