The OSI Model stands for Open Systems Interconnection. The answer to the question which layer of the OSI model are layers capable of functioning is at all layers.
Session layer
Network layer
Layer 2 is divided into the LLC and MAC sublayers.
seven
That is a loaded question...it depends on what you mean by gateway. I proxy server can be a gateway so can a router. Typically, its gateway=router. check this chart out: http://www.geocities.com/SiliconValley/Monitor/3131/ne/osimodel.html I consider it on the Network layer. Let me know if this helps! It is sometimes recognized that a gateway may function across several or all layers of the OSI model.
Transport layer and Network layer.
There are seven layers in OSI model.
There are exactly four layers Application layer Trasport layer Internet layer similar to n/ w layer in OSI model N/w interface like data link layer. TCP/IP model doesnt have physical layer , presentation layer and session layers.
Physical, Data link and Network layers make the Network Support layers.
The NIC operates on Layer 2 (Data Link Layer) of the OSI Model.
All layers.
