Often times, external monitors/extra monitors are daisy-chained. Some computers will have a setup where, say, three cables go directly out of the computer into three seperate monitors, but sometimes one cable goes out from the computer to the monitor, which is linked up (daisy chain) to other monitors.

If the computer is able to accept PCI cards you will need to add a FireWire card to the computer and connect the camera to that. (See links below)
firewire and usb
Yes. While not as popular as USB, firewire is still definitely used today. Today, firewire is the dominant way of transferring digital video from a camera to a PC. Update: Yes if you have a free compatible expansion slot (e.g. PCI), your Firewire or 1394 card will still be usable. I recently added a my old PCI Firewire card to one of the new machines. These are used primarily for Video capture/transfer or even for some external HDD or DVD drives which have a Firewire interface. - Neeraj Sharma
firewire port can support up to 63 devices on one firewire port with a hub
A daisy chain is a chain of daisies tied together ( I would know that because of my name )
The maximum number of Cisco IP phones that can be daisy chained together directly through a switch port is two. These two phones will provide an additional 48 lines.
Most Windows 2000-era desktops have at one available PCI slot. A FireWire card can be purchased for less than $20 to give the computer FireWire capabilities. Similar cards exist for laptops, although they are slightly more expensive.
I was told by a Guitar Center rep you can not daisy chain two MBOX PROS's Is this true?
To safely connect multiple devices using daisy-chained outlets, make sure the total power draw does not exceed the outlet's capacity, avoid using extension cords or power strips in the chain, and regularly check for overheating or overloading.
