uh. no. it's really really really bad for the environment and they can sell for about 10% their original value even if broken (as in you dropped it and cracked the screen or wrecked your harddrive or somehting; not dropping it in a well or a bottle of pool acid.) the parts in side rarely all break, and they can sell for a lot.

most dead computers can be fixed by replacing the /C: drive, which is about a $150 repair. many laptops even make the /C: drive readily accessible
