The main things to compare on a laptop computer would be the screen size, processing power, programs you would like to use, and what the main purpose for your laptop will be. Figuring out the good and bad perks about the laptop would also help in the new purchase. Depending on this information, you can get a start from there as to which laptop would suit you best.
Your question is very vague. Most laptops are capable of running the same operating systems as a desktop computer.
It is probabely because it is portable and desktop's aren't. and for Laptops can you can probabely Burn DVD's and for Desktops of the past you can't do that. For the new Desktop's you can. Desktops aren't portable but Laptops are.
you be using a desktop :)
The main feature of a laptop as compared to a desktop is portability. As you may know, laptops are quite a bit smaller than a normal desktop computer.

Desktop computers differ from laptops and notebooks because they are not portable like laptops and notebooks. Desktop computers are usually your personal pc computers with windows and/or apple operating systems. Laptop computers are great as they are portable and can be used anywhere there is wifi service as are notebooks.
Desktops are cheaper than laptops and are more powerful. But laptops are portable.
Laptops because ther portable. But if your looking power wise then I recommend desktop.
desktops mostly sit on a desk but laptops are portable and faster then desktops!
Well, for one thing, laptops are basically computers. They can compute like, what I'm guessing you're referring to, desktop computers. However, Desktop computers are actually cheaper to own that laptops, if you look at a comparison of price to performance. So in a sense, you get more bang for your buck with desktop computers as compared to laptops. If you're looking at matinence costs, etc., then it would still be cheaper to own a desktop pc. Laptops have a much higher chance of getting broken that desktop computers, and of course, data theft is a large problem with laptops if you accidentally leave yours in an airport or other public place.
