To perform a traceroute (tracert) on a frequently used host, open your command prompt or terminal and type tracert [hostname], replacing [hostname] with the desired domain (e.g., tracert Google.com). The command will display the path data packets take to reach the destination, including the number of hops and their response times. You can stop the process at any time by pressing Control-C. This can help you diagnose network issues and understand the route data takes to reach the host.
tracert -a
Press CTRL - C and it it will stop the tracert.
tracert command
tracert
Short for traceroute: it is a utility program to check IP-routing. When you start it, e.g: tracert www.ibm.com
if say you did tracert google.com it would bring the web address in number form. very helpful for getting past school firewalls. I am not a hacker btw. ANd the question should be what does a tracert command do?
tracert is the command the syntax is "tracert name.com" or "tracert IP.ADD.RES.S" Works in many OS, not just Windows 7.
tracert
Your question is inco
the network path to a destinationAnswerTraceroute ( or Tracert )is a comp network tool used to determine the route taken by packets across the IP network. Tracert is a tool which is used on Microsoft window Operating system, while traceroute tool is available on particular Unix-like OS....Tracert n Traceroute are same in functionality bt having differt names in different Operating sys.
tracert is the perfect function for you. E.x: CMD { tracert 192.168.1.1 } That will allow you to see where your data packet has traveled. The 192.168.1.1 is only an example. Hope this answer has helped you! :D
On windows OS the command is tracert X . instead of the X you input either IP or the destination or a domain name, Google.com for example. On Linux OS i think the command is tracepath.
