I would depend on what you currently have as a router and if you plan on using the router as a wireless access point. I would imagine if you are connecting through your smart TV's ethernet port, you shouldn't need to upgrade. If you plan on streaming video and movies I would recommend getting a dual-band wireless router.
Hope that helps.

You should not need to. It is a local device that should not interfere with the router and not be interfered with by the router.
nope not at all
In the best of worlds, an HDTV, an Internet Connection complete with router. extra controllers, the PS3 Move Bundle, HDMI cable, Games, ETC However you can buy one and content it to your TV and start playing if your also brought a Game. I recommend the new PS3 250 GB model with Move Bundle that includes a game as a perfect start at $400 see related link
no...go the the command prompt and type IPCONFIG and that will give you the information that you need to connect the router
When your connection directly from modem is faster (internet bandwidth), than through the router.
I figured it out myself :). Apparently the router ran out of RAM, so i need a new router... Mleh :P
The TV with a large screen came before HDTV ever came out. I have an Old Projection TV that is over 25 years old that is kept in the basement. Most new TVs are made with HDTV, but they do not need HD programming and can receive standard 480i shows on a HDTV.
I would guess you need a converter or a decoder box to view the new HD stations.
You can't. You will need to purchase a new router.

you can, or at least you should. maybe you need a new one? or a new modem
The capability to change the password is in the router's settings. You will need to provide the old password and input your new preferred one.
