That depends of a few things. Firstly, it depends on whether or not the malware has disabled your internet connection, obviously. It also depends on the skill level, knowledge and methods used by the person to remove the malware. I have removed thousands of malicious files remotely and it has always worked, but I have also had people come to me from places like Best Buy and other computer shops, large and small, that have had terrible experiences with it.
