The internet is both safe and unsafe. It is only unsafe if you share personal information or download programs from untrusted sites. If you, your children, or your parents talk about the dangerous of the internet and you understand there are risks involved with things done on the internet then the internet is perfectly safe.

Remember, it's better to be safe than sorry.

Tell your children not to share the personal information like address, password, name, phone number etc. Be sure to keep an eye on your kids contacts, you never know who the person pretending to be another kid really is.

Internet shopping is very popular nowdays so be careful with internet payments. Invisible fraudsters can steal your real money if you share your credit card or bank account detail on untrusted websites which pretend to be a shop or something like that. Avoid using a credit card online. Use a prepaid card like paysafecard with online games, Skype etc.

The best way to stay safe on the Web is to never give out personal information (Social security, credit card, email, etc) to sites you have not done business with or do not trust. You have to be safe on the computer because:

• If you're on your email account and you chat to a stranger they could always get information about you.
• If your computer says you won a free iPad, iPod or iPhone, it just means they are trying to find out what you like.
