Your computer is vulnerable by the protection of your firewall. If your firewall is open, or have no firewall, you are pretty much a siting duck. Cookies track your browsing behaviors or surfing habits. Marketers use this data to understand how users use their partner websites and optimize their networks for the average user that visits their networks which helps generate a bunch of marketing statistic. A cookie is a plain txt file that sits on your computer in a temporary folder that stores data about a browsing session. If you log into a website it generally sets a cookie to temporarily store your information so you don't have to log in every time you change a page.Tracking cookies don't infect your computer on their own out of nowhere. They are stored on a computer once a website that uses tracking cookies is visited. Cookies do not usually pose a threat, anti-virus and anti-spyware programs tell you they do but they are not usually anything to worry about.
