4DV file is ultrasound data file generated by a GE Healthcare Voluson ultrasound machine. And 4DV file can be viewed using GE's 4D View software or ViewPoint with the 4D View plug-in.

Open a 4DV File in Windows:

  • General Electric 4D View - Allow doctors to optimize, and analyze, and manipulate Volume Ultrasound data.

You can download it here:

  • Click the download button.
  • Locate the link: Download 4DVSetup.exe
  • NOTE: There is a newer version of the software that requires a registration log-in if you require a later version but this version works also.

Download and install the Viewer from the link above.

You have 3 install options: DEMO, 60Day trial or Dongle.

I tested with Dongle and 60 day trial and it opened 4dv files successfully.

IMPORTANT: Opening Instructions as not normal file open operation.

  1. First put in DONGLE if you have one, if not continue to step 2.
  2. Open 4D Viewer on desktop or in start menu
  3. Then on the left toolbar click the "A" symbol.
  4. On the next screen at top left drop down box (SOURCE) select 4DV
  5. Locate and Point to the 4DV file on your system or CD you wish to open and it should appear in the application screen.

Good luck! I tested the procedure and it was successful.
