they give squeaks
They Give the same sounds to each other to communicate that they give to you.
They missed each other and that's how they talk.
Guinea pigs may squeak when they are being held because they are communicating their feelings, such as being scared, uncomfortable, or wanting to be put down. Even if there are no other guinea pigs around, they still vocalize to express themselves and communicate with their human caregivers.
From what I've read, they do NOT make great cage mates at all. I even had guinea pigs and a rabbit when I was younger and my parents wouldn't house them together. The rabbit is stronger and can kill a guinea pig just by kicking it, accidentally or purposefully.
Well, this may be qualified as muttering. if it's just a little low and quiet "ee...ee...ee", then that just means they're trying to talk to other guinea pigs or show that they are calm, happy, and or comfortable!
They shouldn't- talk to a vet!
It is best that guinea pigs are kept with other guinea pigs rather than rabbits as rabbits do not speak "cavy" and guinea pigs like to have others of their own species to talk to. Rabbits tend to spray, and guinea pigs are animals that like to be clean and as hygienic as possible. They also cant share food, as rabbit food contains an anti-coccidostat (ACS) which will shorten a guinea pigs lifespan by poisoning it's internal organs. Although they would probably be OK together, it will be better for the guinea pig if they are kept apart- having said that, there are cases of rabbits and guinea pigs getting on very well and living happily together. It depends on how the guinea pig and the rabbit get on. Hope this was helpful :)
Yes, you can talk to Guinea Pigs, preferably using a soft voice and soft whistling so that they aren't frightened, as they might be by shouting, screaming or shrill voices.
yes guinea pigs can actually hear quite well. they get startled by loud noises and some may know when your about to feed them if they hear and reconize the bag being opened. when you are holding your guinea pig you want to talk nice and soothing to your pig.
guinea-pigs squeak because it is there way of communicating like humans talk
