Hello, I have read the following post and found it useful. Check out the following tutorial. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Karaoke#References ******************** Hello, If you want to record your own karaoke songs on your computer without purchasing Karaoke software, here's what I did: The only cost was purchasing the karaoke songs for .99 cents on iTunes or Amazon [Note: this only works with "karaoke" songs, not the original versions that still have the artist's vocals on track, unless you want to record yourself singing along with them] INSTRUCTIONS FOR CONVERTING AN MPEG FILE TO A .KAR FILE FOR RECORDING WITH KARAFUN SOFTWARE Required Free Downloads: MediaCoder http://www.free-codecs.com/download/mediacoder.htm Click on "Download MediaCoder" Ignore or reject all the advertising offers with "Decline" KaraFun http://www.karafun.com/karaokeplayer/ KaraFun only plays .kar files To Make a .KAR file out of an MPEG file: - Download the karaoke song onto iTunes or upload it from a CD - Drag it onto the Desktop. It will be an Mpeg file Open MediaCoder: - Hit "New" song or "Add" song, browse for your song - Under "Encoder" choose "Vorbis" from the pulldown menu under the arrow - Do not hit the "Encoder" button, it just brings up a Windows doc - Choose Output File location, usually the Desktop - Hit "Start." Conversion will start - The Mpeg file will now be transcoded as a .kar file with the KaraFun icon - Rename the KaraFun icon song as "[song] vocals [date]" - MediaCoder will disappear by default onto the lower right system tray, remember to click it and Exit out before turning off the computer Open KaraFun: - Open the Library and the Recording windows - Drag the .kar song over to the song list in Library, or "File" "Open" and browse for it - Double click the song to make sure it's highlighted - Hit the Record button to record song with vocals - This will overwrite the .kar file permanently. Make a copy and rename it first to preserve the original

To convert karaoke zip files to bin files, first, extract the contents of the zip file using file extraction software like WinRAR or 7-Zip. Inside the extracted folder, look for the audio files and any related data files typically in formats like .cdg or .mp3. Use a karaoke software or converter that supports the specific file types to create bin files from the extracted audio and graphics files. Follow the software's instructions for importing and converting the files to the desired format.

Just resave the file. The flash drive is represented as an ordinary file system. If you can change the date of a file on a hard drive, then you can change it on a flash drive.
Can be done file type by file type: Go to: control panel/programs/default programs/set associations Scroll down the list and pick the one you want. Pick .mp4 (for example) click on 'change program' (top right) Browse to the media player (.exe file) you wish to play the file in. I don't know if you can hold ctrl and highlight multiple file types to change more than one at a time. Have fun.
