To enable the menu bar without directly accessing it, you can use keyboard shortcuts. For example, on Windows, you can press the "Alt" key to temporarily show the menu bar in many applications. Alternatively, you can access application settings or preferences using keyboard shortcuts or by right-clicking on the application title bar to enable the menu bar option.
In View menu you can enable/disable the Toolbar. Select 'Toolbar' option to bring it back.

Depending on the menu of the specific movie player, you should be able to enable subtitles. Generally, in the tools section of the menu you will find the option to enable subtitles, if they exist in the movie file or DVD.

In System Preferences select Accounts and then Login Options. Select Enable fast user switching. To switch users select the head and shoulders silhouette at the right hand end of the menu bar and select the desired user from the drop down menu to switch to their account and desktop.
