To find the MAC address in Windows 8, open the Command Prompt by pressing Windows + X
and selecting "Command Prompt." Type the command ipconfig /all
and press Enter. Look for the network adapter you are using; the MAC address will be listed as "Physical Address." It will be displayed in a format like "00-1A-2B-3C-4D-5E."
A MAC address is a unique identifier given to network devices when running on a physical network. To find out the MAC address of a network device on a Windows 8 laptop press the key with the Windows symbol on it to bring up the splash screen. Type in CMD and then press enter to bring up the command prompt. Within the command prompt window type in the command 'IPConfig /all'. Check the information on each of the network devices that have been detected and the Physical Address, which is six sets of two hexadecimal characters, will provide the MAC address of the network device.
The recommended operating system for the Asus Eee PC 900 is Windows 8. As such, you can find the MAC address by launching command prompt and typing â??ipconfig /allâ?? without the quotes and hitting enter. The MAC address will be listed next to Physical Address.

I generally prefer Windows XP, but sadly this came out of support earlier this year so we all have to use Windows 7, 8 or Mac osx :)

Purchase a copy of Parellels Desktop or obtain it somehow. Obtain a copy of windows 8 Install Windows 8 into Parallels desktop, whenever you boot on the computer open up the program, just click onto Windows 8!
