I've been trying to get an old Xerox WorkCentre XD120f to work with my computer. I've tried using Compatibility mode to install the drivers, but to no avail - once i get through the warnings about uninstalling previous drivers, the program closes itself and nothing happens.
What do I do? Using Dell Inspiron with Windows 8.1.
Install windows XP, then go to the website of the manufacturer of your device(s) and look for the windows xp driver. For example, you have nvidia geforce 9xxx, then go to nvidia.com, click the drivers (above) and choose windows xp. DOwnload and install each driver. Install Windows XP mode on Windows 7. Connect your printer. At the taskbar at the top of the XP mode window, click on the USB tab. Select the Kyocera Fs-720 printer. If it asks you if you want to share, click yes. Your printer is now detected by the virtual xp machine. Download the XP Kyocera Fs-720 driver. Install it. Open the document you want to print in the XP mode and print. You cannot print from Windows 7. You have to do so via the xp mode. To print in the future, you will have to always click on the USB tab and share the printer. (This disconnects it from Windows 7 and connects it to the virtual XP mode machine).

Windows xp does not have native support for SATA interface (except SP3). You have to download SATA interface driver from the motherboard/computer website and use F6 installation procedure.
