If the computer utilizes the welcome screen instead of the standard NT domain login prompt, you can press Ctrl + Alt + Del twice to get to the login prompt. This is only true if you are running Windows XP Professional Edition. Windows XP Home Edition will also allow you to use this method to log on.
You can aslo to use a Windows password reset software to remove the forgotten password when you are locked of windows. It allows you to burn bootable CD/DVD or USB flash drive to reset windows password.
Step 1: Download and install Windows Password Reset
Step 2: Run the application and insert CD/DVD or USB flash drive in computer

Step 4: Set your locked computer to boot from CDROM or USB

2: Insert the CD/DVD or USB flash drive into the computer. Select CD/DVD or USB, click on Burn to start burning a password reset disk.
3: The password reset disk will be successfully burned automatically then. Then click Quit when finishing burning.
