The problem isn't with write protection. The file system has become corrupt and unreadable, or at least a section of it. Your best option is to use the mformat utility on the transcend website.
USB drives can be write-protected by modifying the StoreageDevicePolicies Registry key and WriteProtect Registry value.
Open Registry Editor by going to start>run>regedit and press control+f to open the find dialogue box. and type -driverdesc and press enter and you will see a file named -usb mass storage device. Right click on it and click delete. also delete any other file related to use device and close the window. then insert the usb device. your device will work fine.
Note: deleting unknow files in the registry many cause certain programs not to work normally.
Follow the link http://www.transcendusa.com/Support/DLCenter/index.asp?#L3 and select your device to download the online recovery software. you will be sorted.
Insert the mini CD that came with the USB Flash disk. Start JF Utility.exe in the JF Utility directory. If it complains that the disk is write protected, choose "Continue" Choose "Partition" Answer "Yes" to losing all your data (Since this becomes a problem usually after formating the disk in WinXP or Win9x, you will most probably not have any data on there in any case) Choose "Public Area Only (Single Partition)", Then "OK", Then "OK" again. Unplug the device, reinsert device, and voila!- no more dark secret areas or write protection on your disk!

I too faced this problem, I did some R & D found that the card reader is a culprit. I tried to copy files with different card reader it did not give any such message of write protection. So, you can also give a try with fresh card reader. Hope it solves your problem of write protection.
Cheers

Removing write protection from a memory card is simple. Just insert it into the USB drive, and then double click on the flash drive icon when it pops up in the tray. Next, go to properties, and then click the checked box beside 'write protection.' That will remove the write protection from the drive.
yes
Write protection is a feature on some CDs, dvds, and flash drives, that prevent the user from copying over the existing information. To remove the write protection from a Kingston pen drive, simply insert it into the computer and right click on the flash drive icon. From there, go to properties, select the hardware tab, then select the policies tab. One can remove the write protection from the policies tab.
hi dear friend i can,t remove right protect in my 8gb pen drive
my pen drive is not format some error message so in screen "write protected"
To remove write protection from a flash drive, insert the flash drive in a USB port and go to my computer, then pull up the drive that the USB corresponds to. Next, right-click and go to properties. Un-check the box that say "Read Only." That should fix the issue.
Most USB flash drives do not include a Write-protection mechanism, although some have a switch on the housing of the drive itself to keep the host computer from writing or modifying data on the drive. If the pen drive came with software, they may have disabled the write at the factory. If there is no switch, then it is probably not possible to write to the pen drive.
