How do you turn on an iMac?

To turn on a Mac you need to press the power button. The location of the power button will vary depending on the particular Mac model. For the laptop range you lift the screen and the power button is usually located in the top right corner above the keyboard. The iMacs have a power button on the back of the screen in the lower left corner; older G5 iMacs had it on the lower right corner. Some even older Macs had a power key on the keyboard which would switch on the computer.

Could click on the Apple icon on the top left, then go to "restart computer" other then that you could just hold the power button down for about 5 - 7 seconds for the computer to turn off, and then turn it back on normally. This isn't a recommended step, since it could harm system files.

Depends on the model, but usually there is a circular, flat button at the back of the base, above the keyboard, right under the screen. Press that for a second or two.

The power button on the current iMacs is on the rear lower left hand corner as you look at the screen. On earlier G5 iMacs it was on the lower right hand corner.
