The code for the various symbols vary according to the typeface, (commonly miscalled font), being used.
They also differ between Windows and Mac.
If you can locate the character map on your computer, then holding the cursor over the symbol you wish, and in the typeface you want, some text will appear giving the keys to be pressed to get that character.
U+221A means 'hold down upper case U, and type in 221A.
