its simple and easy, one megabyte is equal to 1 million bytes so do the math bytes megabytes 1,000,000 = 1 10,000,000 = 10 100,000,000 = 100 250,000,000 = 250 and just check how many chips the memory have and do the math ...had to edit this answer substantially for inaccuracies, I think what he was trying to get at is divide the total DIMM memory by the number of chips on the module(ie: 256/8 = 32 megabytes per chip, or 32,000,000 bytes). Then to convert to bits you would need to multiply by 8 again (8 bits in a byte). Mind you this is for how much memory is on each chip and I don't think that is what this question is asking. I think http://wiki.answers.com/Q/How_many_bits_of_information_does_a_single_cell_of_a_memory_chip_on_a_256MB_PC2700_DDR_module_hold would be a more reliable answer.

Where do short term memory receives information from?

Short-term memory receives information from sensory memory, which processes information from our senses such as sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell. This information is then briefly held in short-term memory for a short period of time before it is either forgotten or transferred to long-term memory for storage.

According to Wikipedia what is working memory?

Working memory is the system where multiple pieces of information in transit are held for manipulation. It includes the subsystems that store visual and verbal information as well, but differs from short term memory.

How many types of memory?

There is long term memory, in which your brain stores information for an extended amount of time. Short term memory is held with active rehearsal and can hold about 7 different ideas.

What consideration do marketers give to consumer information processing?

When information is processed, it is held for a very brief time (less than 1 minute) in working, or short-term, memory. If this information is rehearsed (mentally repeated), it is transferred to long-term memory

Where is the frequently accessed information held?

cache memory

How many items of information can be held in the short term memory at one time?

The capacity of short-term memory is generally believed to be around 7 (plus or minus 2) items, according to research by psychologist George A. Miller. This can vary depending on factors like the complexity of the information being stored.

Where are the most frequently used files held?

I think you are referring to what is called cache memory. (rhymes with 'cash') Cache is a portion of computer memory reserved for frequently used information, so that the information can be accessed more rapidly than retrieving it from the hard drive, or from the 'regular memory'

What type of information does not change on a computer?
