Most modern SCSI buses support a total of 16 devices, while older SCSI implementations usually support only eight devices.

Short answer: Four A much more precise answer: The IDE standard allows for two devices to share a single IDE channel. The most common configuration is for there to be two IDE channels on the motherboard, allowing for a total of four devices. It is possible however, to add more IDE channels, usually in the form of PCI add-on IDE controller cards and have literally dozens of IDE devices in a single computer system.
EIDE (Enhanced Integrated Drive Electronics) typically supports up to four devices on a single controller, with each controller capable of connecting two devices (master and slave). Therefore, the maximum number of IDE drives that EIDE can support is four drives per controller. If multiple controllers are used, the total can increase accordingly, but standard setups usually involve one to two controllers.
A maximum of two devices can be placed on an EIDE / PATA cable. Not all cables will include two connectors for doing so, though.

2:DTE - Data Terminal Equipment - terminalDCE - Data Communication Equipment - modemMost applications of RS-232 break this standard and have different devices connected to the 2 ends, semi-emulating DTEs & DCEs. This semi-emulation usually causes some kind of compatibility problems.
You have to pay for all of the optional devices. The system comes with a single controller and charging cable and only a standard A/V 480 TV connection. I had to purchase another controller, the games, more cables for charging extra controllers, a Move Bundle, and the games. I also had to purchase an HDMI cable to receive the 1080 P capability of my HDTV. I wanted internet and had to purchase a router and an ethernet cable to set up the online connection. Of couse I already had the HDTV and the Internet. Since it was a Sony TV the TV's remote allowed me to play DVDs and Blue Ray discs better than the controller could and I did not get headphones or the keyboard
8 Devices can be used on a single SCSI bus.
In theory a single hub of USB can support 127 devices. In practice, this will not actually occur. Most computers do not have enough power to drive that many devices. A reasonable number would be about 20.
SCSI-2 cables can support up to 8 devices on a single bus. This includes one SCSI controller and up to seven additional devices, such as hard drives, scanners, and printers. Each device is connected in a daisy-chain configuration, with unique IDs assigned to avoid conflicts.
