It all depends. It is more likely that large cages will cost a hundred or more, but it could be less. What size do you want? I suggest looking at ferretstore.com and other similar sites. A large, well designed cage for ferrets is a necessity. Some features to look for are solid floors and shelves / balconies (wire mesh is hard on the feet), and ideally solid ladders, too. Multi-level cages are nice, but depending on the arrangement of the levels, falls are possible. Get extra shelves or use hammocks to make cages safer if necessary. A ferret cage can be obtained at most pet stores, EBay.com, Amazon.com, or you can locate a used ferret cage on Craigslist.org, or ferret shelters also sell cages.

you can build a guinea pig cage out of wood and wire, this way you save LOTS of money and you can make the cage as big as you want, most guinea pig cages are way too small if you buy them if you do choose to build one, make sure that the bottom has some sort of good plastic or plexi-glass lining so the pee doesn't soak in and stink, it can also cause respitory infections:)

Your pet rat's home's price depends on how big you need it to be for one rat you can either buy an aquarium and use that as their cage or you could buy a wire cage. You might want a wire one because they are easier to clean and they breath better than aquarium. if you do get an basic wire cage get a mat to place on the bottom which will prevent bumble foot. all this together should cost about 20-40$ from a pet store. if this is out of your budget try getting a used cage but be sure to clean it very well.
