No it is not free you have to pay the same price for books.
I have a nook color and a lot of books are free from Barnes&Nobl, Books.Google.com, Project Gutenberg, etc.
Some books from the Nook you have to pay for. If you get the library app though, it lets you download book for free and lets you have them on your Nook for a few weeks for free. Then it automatically deletes them from your Nook once you have ran out of time for the book. Hope I helped!

You can add any eBooks on to a nook A's long as they are in PDF, PDB, or EPUB format. You plug in your nook and go to the "my stuff" file and there should be a folder that says books. Then you drag and drop into that folder and then you enjoy our free books on your nook.
None. You have to buy them, or get them for free by browsing.
No you don't. If you don't want to spend money on them then you can get NOOK friends and ask them to lend you books or you can just get free books. GOod luck!
