You should never house male mice together as they will always fight to establish dominance. I have heard that it is ok to house male mice together if they were raised from babies with each other, but I wouldn't recommend it. I once housed two male mice together because a girl at the pet store advised me they had been raised together and the bigger one killed the other by the time I came home from work.
You can put a new mouse in the same cage as another, but if your mouse prefers living alone, don't put the mouse in the cage. The older mouse should be better off solitary.
Not really... the male mouse will probably mate with her shortly after she gives birth and this can put stress on the mother, and could cause her to eat her babies.
I wouldn't recommend it, as they might fight.
It depends on what relation ship the baby has with the adult. if it is its mother than probably. but keep quiet, any sudden noises can scare the mother and this can result to it eating its young. if it is a male mouse than this may not be a good idea as they are very territorial and may kill the baby.
yes if it is a male and female or a younger male and older male
Of course you can. But is it smart to?
No because if you put a baby mouse/mice with adults they would think it's FOOD! Trust me, I had a baby field mouse and I put it in the cage with the adults and it was gone soon.
I had mice but like i do with every animal before i get it i do some research on them and you arent suposed to put a male and female together in the first place so i would advice you 'not' to put the male back in with the female
Me and my brother heard a sqeaking noise and it was coming from my cat's mouth! We rescued a young mouse but not to young and after that i put it in my old rats cage(my rat sadly died afew months ago R.I.P).that was when we had to go on a trip we had planned to go to Orlando(i live in Florida and in clermont). we went but realisied that it was to late to go back but beofre then we put the mouse in the cage in the shed. the next day we found the mouse dead R.I.P. so if i were you i would not if you don't think i have a good reason then ask a vet or a mouse expert in memory of the mouse cheese hope you take my advice
No, the male mouse will harm the babies if they are not old enough. I left my male mouse in the same cage when my female had babies, what I found was that she would only go near the babies when it was feeding time, other than that my male ( the father ) was the one to protect then when people put their hands in the cage and he would sit on them to keeo them warm it was so cute, also good for the babies as he is the size on a small rat. xXx LostNHopeless
A mouse's gestation period is around 20 days.
It is fine to put the male back in only if you want another litter of babies! Be careful, because males usually get mad if you take them from their female, resulting in biting or scratching if you are not careful. Also try to remember when you took the male away, because one time I had a female mouse that had her babies overnight. We thought it was fine by taking the male out as soon as possible, but we found out 3 weeks later that she was indeed pregnant again when her babies came. If you are a mouse breeder, I do not incourage double breeding...as it usually results in death of the mother mouse. Why trust me? I have bred mice for about a year and a half now and researched them for much longer. I also have owned mice. -experienced mouse breeder and owner
