Any pop up advertisement that is unrelated to the site you are browsing has to be treated with mistrust.

Any advertisement that promises you free stuff online is also suspicious.

Many of these promo sites are harvesting email address to sell for advertising (spam). At worst, they could be phishing sites that aim to take your identity, online passwords or financial information to steal from you.

So, without knowing about the particular "online rewards club" I would advise not going to it or clicking on it at all. If it keeps popping up, quit the browser program.

I recommend turning off popups in your browser settings, and also switching to using Firefox with the NoScript plugin, which allows you to control what Javascripts are permitted to run when you browse the Web.
