There is, but you'd have to remove the top cover.
If the laptop won't turn on try this. Remove the power cord, remove the battery. With the battery out, plug the power cord back in. Try turning the laptop on. If it comes on, then you can put the battery back in.
Press the Power button. Some laptops have a remote and infrared box, so you can turn it on that way, too. Make sure your laptop is charged and the battery is secure if it's not turning on with the power button.
With most laptops the usual problem is either the battery is not charged or the power circuit has saturated. the is a simple way to check this on most laptops. if you have a second battery you can switch them out if not, then try this. Pull out the battery and unplug the laptop; then open the laptop to gain access to the power button. Press and hold the power button for one full minute. Then put the battery back in and see if it will start up. This is a common power reset procedure for most laptops.

Sounds to me like your system went into "hibernation mode". Hibernation mode is a power-saving mode that is much like shutting your system down, but not all the way. Usually pressing the power button will awaken the system. If not, pressing & holding the power button for a few seconds will go ahead & shut the system all the way down, then you can press the power button again to power it back on. This procedure also worked with my Acer Aspire 5610Z which was only displaying the movable cursor and blank screen. thanks
