Yes. Though I have not research this information, it is probable that the battery-charging process is not 100% efficient and that there is some loss of energy in the way. This loss would be the net difference of energy consumption between using your laptop on battery power and then recharging it, and using it on AC power.
However, in practice this might not reveal true when you consider the probability that your laptop has different power consumption settings for the two modes, so IF the energy efficiency gain from your "battery power saving" is superior to the inefficiency of the battery-charging process, the net result will be less energy-demanding when on battery power. Note that the same power saving settings used on battery power can be applied to AC mode.
The one thing that is sure is that you should always turn it off or at least put it on standby when NOT in use.
Turn down the brightness, plug the laptop into a power source. There should be a "power saver" setting in the control panel.
It should have come with a cord. One end will plug into your iPod and the other will plug in to you laptop.
The beep indicates that the power is connected. BTW - try this out, unplug the power from the outlet and plug just the power to the laptop. Notice, the beep will still sound.
That is a transformer, it lowers the voltage coming from the plug to a lower voltage that the laptop can handle.
As always, either the power antenna or the remote turn-on for an amplifier.
When you plug it in the beep indicates so. You can make sure to stand still and check the battery.

Docking stations allow you to plug a laptop into a standard desktop peripherals without plugging them directly into the laptop. Computer docking stations are central hubs where you can plug in a laptop to a power supply, a monitor, a keyboard, speakers and a mouse.
In order to connect your laptop with your Blackberry you will need a USB plug. Blackberry's come with a USB plug that will attach your phone to your computer to sync information.
There is, but you'd have to remove the top cover. If the laptop won't turn on try this. Remove the power cord, remove the battery. With the battery out, plug the power cord back in. Try turning the laptop on. If it comes on, then you can put the battery back in.
Laptop chargers are plug-in cords and voltage adapter boxes that come with your laptop so that you may keep the laptop's battery charged. Your computer should have come with one.
