It does nothing if you aren't using it for any programs. But if you have a program open like Microsoft Word the F7 key opens up spellcheak. You see the F- keys do different things in different programs.
UNLESS you are holding the FN key in the bottom left hand corner, if you hold that then it will do what the picture in blue shows on the F7 key.
