The 2096 error is usually to do with your network connection. Open System Preferences and select the Network section. Click on Airport (or whichever you use) in the left hand pane and then click the Assist Me button at the bottom. Follow the Diagnostics options to resolve your networking issues.
If the problem remains create a new network connection, with the same settings as the old one, and use that.

No, its not. You need either Mac OSX or Windows to download itunes, and I know that it doesn't have either of those operating systems.
You can't. The Samsung Alias 2 doesn't have Windows or Mac OSX, which are the only operating systems compatible with itunes.
If your message reads that Quick Time cannot initialize due to error 2096, right-click Quick Time on your desktop, click on properties, and select the compatibility tab. De-select the compatibility mode box, then click apply. Try once again to open iTunes. If this does not work, see procedure below. This is an error, where itunes is slower than usual or not working at all. Itunes should have been downloaded properly. It might be that it was not installed properly, and some of the files are not there. If this is not letting you go on itunes, uninstall it using control panel and add/remove programs. If it says to reboot your computer, you'll have to reboot it. Then reinstall it. This is a risk, because when rebooted you will lose all the information on your computer, but if you want itunes, then you should reboot. I had this same problem for months. What you have to do is go to my computer, open c drive ,right click on itunes folder, open properties ,open compatabilities and deselect then click ok then you should be able to open itunes i had the same problem. this this took me an hour to figure out...reinstalling and uninstalling. finally worked for me when i installed quicktime 7.3.1. try that, it should fix everything. heres the link http://www.oldapps.com/quicktime_player.php?old_quicktime=7#Download
