If it weren't for the transformer box on the cable, we'd only need a long piece of wire to run our laptops. But computer companies have designed their laptops to use different ampherage voltage, and wattage as compared to your standard electrical current for battery and charging efficiency, as well as a small way to add more money onto the price tag. It's not a big problem, its just your cable doing its job
