Indefinit. As long as you can buy parts for it and it does what you want why get rid of it. It comes down to what you use it for. My 9 year old computer can still play most of the newer games with my upgrades. But it will come a time when it will be harder to find any newer software that will run on my older OS. Lepard, OS-10.5 will probably be just about the last Apple supported operating system for me as they will be phasing out the older PowerPC software and will be focussing on the Intel OS. As will the Software manufacturers that write the programs for the PowerPC chips. Some of the newer games now are Intel only already.
