They are two different companies. Cyrix is a smaller company, their processors are not as performant as Intel ones, however they would exponse exactly the same set of instructions. Regardless the lack of performance compared with Intel, Cyrix had a very good market in the mid 90s, for people that did not have the money to purchase Intel. Instead of purchasing an Intel at 166 Mhz with 400 dollars, one could purchase a Cyrix at 150 Mhz for only 99 dollars. Of course, the performance of the cyrix would be far smaller, but the price difference would make it worthwile. Had a Cyrix between 97 and 2000. Was very happy with it.

Intel Core
The Pentium D is essentially a rebranded and double-cored version of the Pentium 4. The Core 2 Duo is a much more efficient and powerful processor.
The Intel 80486 was a microprocessor family produced by Intel introduced in 1989. It was their first 86 processor with a math coprocessor built into it. It's predecessor family were the 386 family and it's sucessor was the Pentium chip
There are version of Intel Pentium one through four as well as Intel Pentium Pro, Intel Pentium D, Intel Pentium M, Pentium (2009), and Pentium Duel Core.
The Intel Pentium line encompasses many processors of many different architectures ranging from the original Pentium Processor of 1994 up to the Core 2 Duo based Pentium simply called the "Pentium". The Intel Pentium used to be Intel's flagship processor. Recently this position has been taken by the Core 2 Duo and Core i7. The Pentium now is reduced to a budget processor that offers lower performance but also lower cost.
Pentium 4 uses Hyper-Threading, which is like a dual core, but isn't. A Dual-Core consists of 2(two) logical cores.
The 4004 was Intel's first microprocessor and the world's first single chip microprocessor. For the first PC as we know it (the 1981 IBM PC), it was the 8088, following with 80286, 80386, 80486 and then the Pentium line.
The core 2 duo is faster.
