The secret that pinnacle (the company that made dazzle) doesn't tell you is that the regular dazzle and dazzle platinum are the EXACT same. They both do the same thing, in the same HD quality. The only differences are their color (regular is white and platinum is black), the video editing software that comes with them, and their price (regular is $49.99 and platinum is $89.99). You should only get platinum if you don't have a good program on your PC/Mac to edit the videos. So, if you already have a good program, and you bought dazzle platinum, you just wasted $40. I bought dazzle regular, since I have Sony Vegas Pro 10, and I can still record my DVD, Blu-ray, Xbox 360, and PS3 in high quality. If you don't plan on editing your videos, your decision by now should be obvious.

You could do it with a video camera, but that will be rubbish quality. The best way i know how to record gameplay is: buy a Dazzle platinum, some AV cables, a laptop. Connect your PS3 XBOX360 etc...to your tv. There should be a TV out section on the back of your tv, plug your AV cables into here; add the dazzle to the end of these cables. Connect the dazzle to your pc. With the dazzle you should have some software which lets you record. In total that will cost about £60

Using the software that came with Dazzle Platinum you should be able to record your PS3 Gameplay! *Its a video recording Jack that connects to your PC, costs about £35 **S-Video cable, improves the sound quality ***HDMI cable, improves the gameplay quality by 6 times. This is the most basic way of recording your PS3 There is a more expensive and more complicated way of doing this but I dont know how to do it e.g. for game trailers and competitions
