modem is the device that carries digital signals
Repeater
Actually you have this backwards, the telephone lines can only carry analogue signals (voice band, 20Hz to 3KHz) not digital signals. The device that converts digital signals to analogue signals for transmission over telephone lines is called a phone MoDem(this stands for phone modulator demodulator). At the opposite end of the line it of course converts the telephone analogue signals back to digital signals.
A modem performs this function. A modem converts digital information to analog information to transmit a signal over phone lines. The process of converting this signal in this manner is modulation. They also convert analog information back to digital information to receive data. This is called demodulation. The name modem is a combination of the words modulator-demodulator.
They generally handle linear signals that transition smoothly and continuously as versus digital signals that transition suddenly and discontinuously.
Modem comes from Modulator-Demodulator, a device that converts the computers signals to something that could be transmitted over a phone line and back again to something a computer at the other end can understand. the name means MODulator DEModulator It converts digital data from the computer to analogue data that can travel through the ethernet cables. Then as the data comes back in it translates the data from analogue into digital so the computer can understand it
DSL stands for Digital Subscriber Line and it is a name given to the communication technology using PSTN telephone copper wire. In this digital signals from digital computers are converted into analog form by DSL modem and transmitted via copper lines and at the receiver a demodulator transforms it back to digital form(binary).
What are elementary signals and name them
Both. Modem stands forMOdulator DEModulater.Modulator comes from modulation which is the process of converting analogue data to digital for transmission and Demodulator from Demodulation, converting digital signals to analogue.Digital data-discrete or non-continuous dataAnalogue data- continuous or non-discrete data
The name of device was material.
The process is called "sound-to-electricity conversion" or "acoustic-to-electric conversion." Sound waves are captured by a transducer, such as a microphone or piezoelectric sensor, which converts the mechanical energy of the sound waves into electrical signals.
A boarding pass displayed on a mobile device usually looks like a digital ticket with the passenger's name, flight details, seat assignment, and a barcode for scanning at the airport.
Digital Radio is the coined name for the "New" generation of Radio broadcast; however, it should be noted that the technology has existed for years prior to its intial popularity with the inception of such well-known Satellite radio companies such as Sirius or XM.Note: Digital Radio does not have to originate from a satellite.Digital Radio has significant upgrades from the "Old" generation of Radio that used propogated terrestiral radio signals to trasmit a message called Analog Radio. These upgrades include primarily better sound quality.Unlike it's predecessor a more complicated computer is required to decode these digital signals and convert them into Audio; however, because of this Digital signals can hold more data than the old Analog Signals, allowing for more information such as Song Name date, and legtnh, to be processed simultaneously with the signal.Note: One drawback of digital radio is that if the signal becomes corrupted or blocked by too many barriers like thick concrete the signal will simply be cut out, unlike in analogue radio where you would still hear part of the broadcast with more static noise and distortion.
