Actually you have this backwards, the telephone lines can only carry analogue signals (voice band, 20Hz to 3KHz) not digital signals.
The device that converts digital signals to analogue signals for transmission over telephone lines is called a phone MoDem(this stands for phone modulator demodulator). At the opposite end of the line it of course converts the telephone analogue signals back to digital signals.
Analogue to digital is a conversion process not a transmission process.
it is an DAC (Digital to analogue converter
MOdulate/DEModulate. It converts digital computer signals into analog ones for transmission over analog telephone lines, and then converts the signal back into digital on the other end.
1. To MODULATE (convert) the digital signals from a computer into analogue signal to enable it to be carried through the telephone line. 2. To DEMODULATE (convert back) analogue signals from a telephone line into digital signal to be used in computer.
A: If the signal is analogue then an ADC analogue to converter is required. The output will be in a digital form and that can be decoded and displayed as readout using LEDS or any other visual media
Old telephone systems are analogue, while modern systems are digital.
because internet that comes down a telephone line are analogue signals and the computer on understands digital signals ( 1 and 0s , Machine code, binary) so the modem translates the analogue signals from the phone line to digital and translates digital signals from the computer to analogue
Did you mean "modem"- If it is modem it stands for MODULATOR/DEMODULATOR. In simple terms something that converts digital signal to analogue and back
The set of standards for digital transmission of data over standard copper telephone lines is ISDN
A: An ADC will convert the analog to a digital value compared to a known analogue reference. Each digital output will represent a value in BCD form as bits to analog input
A write head is the part of an electromechanical device which converts electrical signals into digital or analogue information stored on a magnetic or optical medium.
All computers are digital. *Analogue
