well internal 1TB HDD use same power supply as molex unless its Sata in which case 450watt or more is preferred as they go by voltage its usually between 5v and 12v dc external HDD using USB draws it power from the power supply what u have to bear in mind is CPU motherboard DVD /drives etc uses power too.

How hard is it to install an internal hard drive on a computer and what parts do you need in addition to the actual hard drive?

very easy, if its SATA you will need a sata data cable, and sata power cable(usually included with the power supply) also you might need a caddy (the thing the hard drive sits in) but there will probably be spares inside your computer. The most common thing you wont have is a SATA cable

Why do you need a huge power supply for your Desktop?

If you are not doing that much with your desktop a huge power supply is not needed, however for people who use their computer for more than basic things, you will simply need a Motherboard input a Cdrom power cable and a Hard drive cable and you will be fine.

Parts need to build a gaming computer?

You are going to need a case, motherboard, ram, (maybe video card if the mobo doesn't have one in it...), power supply, processor, hard drive or SSD, and a CD drive if you want it.

Will more memory need a bigger power supply?

To add more memory cards you do not need a larger power supply. To add more hard drives for more memory storage space you might need to increase power supply.

What is needed to build own computer?

What type of power supply connector is used to supply power to the floppy drive light remains lit constantly How should the technician attempt to repair the problem?

The drive appears to be a bad one. Why do you need a floppy disc drive anyways?

Why are power cables needed in some external hard drives?

Because the moving parts inside a hard drive require power. Bigger hard drives require more power, so a large hard drive may need more power. USB external harddrives get their power from the computer via the USB ports, that is why some USB hard drive have 2 USB cables; both provide power to the drive and one transfers the data. This many not be enough for large hard drives so they need extenal power. (Just think, they could probably work off 4 or 5 USB ports, but most people don't have that many free!)

Do you need a hard drive to play CD?

No, but you need to have a hard drive to put them on your xbox.

Where do you put hard drive?

The hard drive fits inside the computer tower (or inside the case of a laptop). In the case of a desktop computer, you will need to remove the side of the case and find and empty bay (3.5 inches wide) in which to slot the hard drive. In most cases it will be held in by four screws, but some cases are designed with sliders that screw to the hard drive first, then allow it to be slotted into place. The hard drive needs two connections, one for power and one for data. The power connector comes from the power supply and the data cable links directly to the motherboard (or, in some cases, from a card slotted into the board). If you are using an IDE connection (a wide connector with 40 pins on the drive) you will need to set the jumpers on the drive. There should be a diagram on the top of the drive to help you with this. Inserting and removing hard drives in this way should only be done when the computer is switched off.

How can you repair a primary hard drive not found error?

You open the tower to where you can see all the wires. Make sure that the wires are connected in the right place. If it still doesn't work then you can purchase a new hardrive. After purchasing a new hard drive and it doesn't work then there is a problem with the power supply box. You will need to replace the box.
