happend to me after hard drive fail
When you disconnect the data cable from your hard drive and turn on the computer, you typically receive an error message indicating that no bootable device is found or that the operating system cannot be located. This occurs because the computer cannot access the necessary data to start up. Depending on the system's BIOS or UEFI settings, you may see a prompt to check connections or a message indicating that the hard drive is missing.
Eject it from the computer. After you eject the iPod 'drive' from the computer, it should no longer say 'Do Not Disconnect'.
If you disconnect the power cord to the hard drive, when you turn the computer back on, the hard drive will not be operational. Additionally, if you leave the IDE (or SATA) cable connected when the power cable is disconnected, the system will take longer to POST because it will try to identify the device connected, but it will not be able to. If it is the only hard drive you have in your system, the computer won't boot up because your operating system is on the hard drive.
Case / power supply, Motherboard, CPU, Memory, Optical drive, Hard drive...
A power supply gives electrical power to all the components and parts of the computer. The power supply consists on several wires that connect to specific parts of the computer. Examples are the IDE/SATA CD/DVD Drive, IDE/SATA Hard Disk Drive, the motherboard, etc. Power supplies are only a computer part in a desktop computer, NOT a laptop computer.
Information is stored in the computer's hard drive, which is a magnetic disk read by lasers.

Disconnect the battery and wait about 5 min, this will reset the computer and the 4-wheel drive should work.
Pull everything out of the slots and disconnect everything from the back except the keyboard and mouse. If the problem still occurs, disconnect the disk drive. If it STILL occurs, you have either a motherboard or a power supply problem. If you can get the computer to boot without shutting down, start adding the peripherals back, one at a time and see when the problem comes back.
An external drive is one that is not in -side the computer- It is a Disk (hard) drive or can also be a CD drive which is connected by a cable to the computer.
