the press of a button activates a switch, connected to this button (in fact - the button is the switch). This allows electricity to flow and refer to the memory cell, with which this button is connected. Then the information from this memory cell comes to processor via control device. The control device sends it to processor's input device and processor processes it with the processing unit. After processing the information becomes a command and then the ALU (Arithmetic Logic Unit) in processor performs it. After a command is executed it becomes an information to display on computer's monitor. The information goes to the output device in processor and then flows by bus to VGA. VGA shows the image on a monitor.

A toggle switch is like a light switch. You flick (or 'toggle') the switch on or off and it stays in that position until you flick it again. You could compare a push button switch to a key on a keyboard. When you press a key momentarily it will display one letter on the screen. If you hold down the key, the same letter will repeat (e.g. aaaaaaaaaaaaaaa). Toggle switches can also look like push button switches. Most power buttons on a desktop computer tower is a toggle switch. The reset button on a computer tower is a push button switch.
