Turion.
The sempron is, i believe single core and that for me counts it right out. advantages of the LE sempy are its low energy useage- ideal for a back up PC or other unit that's left on 24/7, other than that go for the Turion. I take it this is for a laptop choice?
NO
No doubt that amd turion x2 is better than athlon x2. So, I would suggest you to go for turion. But I want to know if core 2 duo is better than the turion x2. Any suggestions.
Turion
depends what its in the turion is a mobile processor so if ur gettin a laptop get the turion, if ur gettin a desktop get the athlon
AMD is cheaper than Intel ...
Turion for the fact that Turions' are energy efficient so you can go longer on the same battery charge compared to a phenom.
Depends on what their Clock Speed Is, Clock Speed Is measured in GHz, the higher the number the better the processor. For Instance an Intel Core 2 Duo could have a clock speed of 2.00 GHz and that would be better than a AMD Turion Clock speed of 1.73 GHz.
In terms of raw performance, an equally priced Turion will outperform a Celeron.
AMD turion
The processor speed of the Toshiba Satellite A355D-S6930 AMD Turion X2 Ultra Dual-Core Mobile Processor Laptop is 2.1 GHz.
It will depend on the exact processor model number. There are many processors in Turion and Core2Duo series with varying specifications. Core2Duo processors with similar specs outperforms Turion and Athlon in most benchmarks. AMD processors are overall cheaper. - Neeraj Sharma
It depends if they have the same socket or not, which they usually don't. It also depends if your motherboard supports it or not. Check the manual and it should have a list of supported processors and speeds. This also depends if your laptop allows you to change the processor. Some are soldered on.
