Microsoft started using more of Apple's ideas than they had been allowed to by the licensing deal and they also "acquired" some of the QuickTime programming code which they used in their own media player. This resulted in a long running legal dispute between the two companies. In general Microsoft has taken more from Apple than Apple has taken from Microsoft.

Apple produces a range of hardware - computers, phones, etc. that Microsoft does not.
