Because NTFS is a bad system and macs are just simply too good for this NTFS system.

Your hard drive is formatted in NTFS most likely, which is a Windows standard. Either reformat it to something both Macs and Windows can read (FAT32 generally) or format it for Macs. Or buy a different drive specifically for the Mac and leave NTFS on that one.
Some Microsoft programs work on Macs. If you have an old Mac, it will most likely not work. You need to have new and updated Macs. You also need to make sure you buy a Microsoft program that works with Macs.
