Messages often end up in the junk folder due to spam filters that analyze various factors, including the sender's reputation, the email content, and user behavior. If an email contains certain keywords, excessive links, or is sent from a suspicious domain, it may be flagged as potential spam. Additionally, if a recipient frequently marks similar messages as junk, the filter learns to redirect future messages from that sender to the junk folder. These measures aim to protect users from unwanted or harmful emails.

Junk email, often referred to as spam, is typically filtered by your email service provider's spam or junk folder. When an email is identified as spam, it is automatically moved to this folder, where it is usually kept separate from your regular inbox. Users can review, manage, or delete these emails, and many email services also allow users to mark legitimate emails as spam, helping improve future filtering. Ultimately, if not addressed, junk emails may be deleted after a certain period or when the folder exceeds storage limits.
