One possibility is that you may have contracted a virus.

One suggestion is to use IE for downloading a different browser. You could try installing firefox and getting some addons for it. You might still have a virus, and still be at risk, but at least the annoying IE stopped working messages would probably go away.

I've used Safari, and I find it works well, but some web pages display differently. So far they all have worked, and Safari has never crashed on me yet.

Another possibility is that your registry or system has gotten either corrupted or is missing something important. If system restore cannot take you back to before the problem began, you might try restoring your system from a backup, if you have one.

One solution would be to use the recovery function of your computer to put it back to the way it was new. You would want to back up all of your files and data to a USB flash drive, or external drive, so that you could load them all back in after the recovery.

Another solution would be to completely wipe the hard drive clean and do a new Windows install. This requires having all of the original Installation DVD's or CD's for all of your software, including Windows. This is the best solution if you have the time and resources.

Lastly, check out a lot of the other forums online for how to run antivirus and malware scans, and also registry repair and scans. Be sure to back up your registry and your system before performing any repairs, so that you can undo or recover from any mistakes.

If Internet Explorer is giving you trouble or stops working, you can try uninstalling it and then reinstalling it. You can also download a different browser. Some good choices are Google Chrome and Fire fox.

It might be due to various other programs working together. Internet Explorer could crash because of that.

I would check to see if I smell a gas leak if not I'd go play Golf and if I came back and it still wasn't working I'd tell God to do something about it.
